Rescue Beauty Lounge Santa Fe Road

Oooooh goodies! Today I have one of the polishes from the new RBL collection, Georgia on My Mind, called Santa Fe Road. This is a gorgeous faded light orange shade with gold/green changing shimmer. I didn't fall in love with this one until I went outside and saw all the shimmer in the sun.

See what I mean? It's just stunning. One thing I need to note for you guys: if you don't have the special RBL base coat, you should definitely pick up some type of milky ridge-filling base coat to use under your RBLs (I use Essie Fill the Gap). I've found that these apply so much better over a smooth, milky base rather than a sticky one.

  10. I bought all 7 of this collection and love this color! I have yet to wear it as a full mani-but am wondering why the milky base is needed-I really haven't had much problem with Ji's formula except for her IKB2012 from the fan collection. I'll have to see what happens when I try this one on my regular base coat.

    1. I had formula issues when I used OPI Nail Envy as my base, so I tried Essie Ridge Filling base coat and it solved my problems. I got a lot of dragging and bald spots with the glossy base, so that why I recommended the ridge filler. :)

  11. THANK YOU THANK YOU for the tip on which base to use! I have been using CND Stickey and it made the polish kinda goopy! I also used Seche Vite topcoat which made the polish shrink like no other and made the shimmer disappear so much that it ended up looking like a creme! Which top coat did you use?

    1. You're welcome! I was SO thrilled to find that the ridge fillers worked so well! I switched from Seche Vite to Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat (comes in a red bottle w/white cap) because of the shrinkage too. I've never encountered any shrinkage problems since the switch :)

    2. Awesome! Thanks, again! I ran out and got Essie Fill the Gap and finally my RBL's look like they should. :) I will have to try Sally Hansen. For now I used CND Air Dry Top Coat and that worked really well! :)
