étoile Asscher & Reservoir Swatches/Review

Good morning, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent the weekend in Philadelphia visiting my best friend, so I'm exhausted but we had a great time! Today I have a couple of gorgeous wedding colors for you from one of my favorite brands, étoile.

Asscher is a sheer white packed with shimmery diamond dust. This is three coats.

Reservoir is a beautiful blue/gray shade that was perfect in two coats. The formulas on these polishes are fantastic!

These polishes retail for $18 each. They are certainly on the higher end of the price scale, but I personally think they are worth it. Plus, they all have diamond dust in them! Fancy! You can check out these and other shades on their website: www.etoilepolish.com. What do you think?

OPI 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' Collection Swatches/Review

Hey everyone! So sorry that this post is so late today; I had my engagement party on Saturday night and it was a really busy weekend! I have the new OPI soft shades collection to show you today. This collection is being released in conjunction with the new Oz movie staring James Franco coming out on March 8th.

Don't Burst My Bubble is a sheer white-ish pink. I used three coats here. I love this one, it's so fresh and clean and I love the way it looks on my nails. All of the sheers here applied very well with minimal streaking.

Which is Witch? is definitely the best glitter topper in this collection. It consists of a mix of holographic glitter shapes, including hexes and teeny tiny bars. This is one coat over Don't Burst My Bubble.

Glints of Glinda is a beige/peach sheer shade. I used three coats for the opacity you see below.

I unfortunately don't have much good to say about When Monkeys Fly. This is a glitter topper with large gold hexes and smaller silver holographic glitter. This is one coat over Glints of Glinda. The glitter in my bottle had started sinking in the bottle by the time it got to me; as a result of this, I had a hard time getting the large gold glitter out of the bottle even after I let it sit upside down so the glitter would re-suspend. In addition to that, the gold hex glitters curl in a taco form, making them stick out from the nail if you don't make sure the taco faces down. I suppose this could be remedied with additional coats of top coat, but I personally don't think that should be necessary. I think it's great that OPI is trying to make some awesome glitter toppers, but I feel that this one needed a bit more work.

I Theodora You is a lovely shade of baby pink. I used three coats here and as you can see, it's a bit more opaque than the other two.

Lights of Emerald City is another glitter heavy topper that has square matte white glitter and square iridescent glitter. This is one coat over I Theodora You.

What Wizardry Is This? is a new Liquid Sand shade for the Oz collection. This isn't my favorite Liquid Sand color, but it is gorgeous with top coat! This was two coats left to dry to a matte finish.

This is two coats of What Wizardry Is This? with one coat of top coat. The top coat really makes this polish stunning!

So what do you think of this collection? I know a lot of people were disappointed that the Oz collection was not more bold and colorful, but I can't help but love the soft, clean sheers. You should be able to find these in stores and salons now, but note that OPI has increased their prices to $9.

OPI Pink of Hearts 2012 Duo Swatches/Review/Photos

If you didn't know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and OPI released this special edition duo to support BCA. The set includes two shades: I Think in Pink and You Glitter Be Good to Me. I Think in Pink is a sheer, soft baby pink shade. I used three coats for the swatch below and the formula was great.

You Glitter Be Good to Me is the winner of the set, consisting of small light pink glitter and larger magenta glitter. I used two coats for the coverage you see here. I love this combination. The Pink of Hearts duo retails for $14.95 and is available at such stores as Ulta, Regis, and JCPenney.

Essie Stroke of Brilliance & RBL Bella Glitter Sandwich

Soooo I finally got around to trying a glitter sandwich and guess what? I totally regret not trying this sooner! This is three coats of RBL Bella, one coat of the new Essie Luxeffect polish Stroke of Brilliance, and one last coat of Bella to top it off. Stroke of Brilliance is an awesome periwinkle blue shade with multiple sizes of glitter.

And here's a swatch of three coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Bella. This is such a gorgeous and simple color. Just another RBL that I'm absolutely in love with, no big deal...

*Essie Stroke of Brilliance was received as a perk from Klout.com*

Zoya Gloss Collection

For the next three days, I have the three fall collections from Zoya to share with you. Up first is the Gloss collection, composed of three jelly gloss polishes.

First is Katherine, an eggplant purple jelly shade. Katherine was previously released in the Peter Som box for New York Fashion Week.

This is Paloma, a berry pink jelly shade.

And lastly is Frida, a teal-ish green jelly.

I'm not a huge fan of these. I used three coats for each swatch and they were still kind of patchy and too sheer for my liking. I've been hearing a lot about layering them on top of glitter polishes to make a "jelly sandwich," so maybe they will be good for that.

Found at: www.zoya.com
Price: 0.5 oz bottle, $8.00 (US)

Rescue Beauty Lounge Bikini Bottom

A while ago, Rescue Beauty Lounge created a collection of Spongebob Squarepants-themed nail polishes consisting of this squishy turquoise beauty, Bikini Bottom, Square Pants, and Starfish Patrick (which I'm still trying to find, btw!). Since I just discovered RBL relatively recently, I've been scrambling trying to snatch all these gorgeous polishes up.

Now, I'm normally not a fan of sheer-ish polishes like this, but how could you not love this color? It's so fresh and calming! This is three easy coats of Bikini Bottom. Luckily, this polish is still available on the Rescue Beauty Lounge website.

Spongebob Decals over RBL Square Pants

Good morning everyone! Today I have only the coolest nail decals in the history of the world to show you. I got these Spongebob Squarepants water slide decals to review from KKCenterHK. (Psssst! You can get 10% off your order at KKCenterHK if you use code nailnetwork). They have tons of different designs and I love that they are water slide decals instead of normal decals.

To apply a water slide decal, all you do is peel off the plastic cover, soak it in water for a few seconds, and then slide it off the paper and onto your nail. It also helps if your fingers are a little bit wet as well to help it slide better. See? They are super easy and they look fantastic!

I also happened to have the perfect polish to apply these decals over: Rescue Beauty Lounge Square Pants. I am one polish away from completing my RBL Spongebob collection (Starfish Patrick, you will be mine one day!) and I have to say, they are really awesome. I don't even mind that they are a bit sheer. I used three coats of Square Pants for this mani and you can see it swatched alone below.

Julep Jennifer

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend's sister got married and I fell in love with sheer bridal nail polish. I was contemplating buying the OPI Femme de Cirque mini set, but then I received some referral credits from Julep and decided to see what they had to offer. Coincidently, the sheer I most wanted from their website is named after my boyfriend's sister! Here is two coats of Jennifer, a sheer pale pink.
