OPI Hawaii: Swatches/Review of My Favorites

Are you hanging onto the shred of summer like I am? Wearing your tropical maxi dresses one last time? Soaking up the warmth before the temperature starts dropping and the leaves start turning? I can't say I'm not excited for that (I love fall!), but I'm not quite ready to give summer up just yet. So today I have my favorites shades from the OPI Hawaii collection to share the summer spirit with you.

Do You Take Lei Away? is a lovely milky beige cream shade. I love wearing shades like this every other week or so in the summer to kind of cleanse my palette from all the bright shades I wear. This is two coats.

That's Hula-rious! is an awesome light minty green polish which covered well for me in two coats.

Go With the Lava Flow is a gorgeous shade of pink that reminds me of hibiscus flowers. What made this one a favorite is the stunning blue shimmer in it! I just love shades like this. I'm wearing two coats and the formula was perfect.

Aloha from OPI is a searing hot shade of coral that leans far to the red side, but with just enough pink to make me love it. Wear this to the beach if you want to stand out! Two coats here.

Is Mai Tai Crooked? is a light mango orange polish. I find that most orange polishes give me a Halloween vibe, but this one does a good job of staying in summer territory. The formula wasn't the best here, but I got away with two coats.

Hello Hawaii Ya? is a beautiful dusty shade of lilac that was excellent in two coats. You know my favorites list had to include a purple! :P

OPI released this collection in the spring, but you should still be able to find it now (possibly even on clearance!). Which shade was your favorite?

KBShimmer Summer 2014 Collection Swatches/Review

Good morning all! This is KBShimmer's second collection for Summer 2014 and boy did they nail it! I love their collections because they are so diverse, vibrant, and fun. There's such a good mix of glitter toppers, cremes, jellies, and creme-based glitters here that you're sure to find something you love.

Red, White, & Blue-tiful is a glitter topper with red, white, and silver stars and silver microglitter. This is one coat dabbed over Lo and Be Bold from the Early Summer collection. The star glitter was super easy to get out of the bottle.

Happily Ever Aster is a gorgeous mix of aqua, lavender, white, and purple glitter in a clear base. This is one coat over Right as Reign.

Radiant Orchid is a very on-point shade as far as trends go. This pinkish purple shade has a perfect formula and coverage in two coats.

Scribble Me This is a glitter topper consisting of a mix of different shapes, including stars, triangles, and circles, in neon shades. This is two coats over Radient Orchid.

Mixed Peelings is one of my very favorite. Nobody does full coverage white-based glitters like KBShimmer! This one consists of neon green, yellow, and pink glitter in a white base that was perfect in two coats.

Mint-al Vacation is a fabulous mint holographic polish! The holo effect is faint in my photo but gorgeous outside in the sunlight. I'm wearing two easy coats.

Periwinkle in Time is a beautiful periwinkle shade of blue with blue, silver, and purple glitter interspersed. This is two coats and the formula was fantastic, plus there's circle glitter in here!

You're So Shellfish is the amazing, vibrant cousin to my all time favorite neon, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. However, You're So Shellfish wears SO much better than FFF so it officially moves into the top spot on my favorite neon list. This is two coats.

Look High and Holo is a berry-toned jelly with a festive mix of glitter inside. Jellies are my least favorite nail polish finish, but this one is really pretty. I used three coats here but would recommend layering it over a matching raspberry shade if you wanted an opaque look.

Peak My Interest is a jelly as well, but I got slightly better coverage here with three coats. This pretty pink base is filled with purple and white glitter, including triangles!

Sea You Around is the last of the jellies and is an emerald green base with silver and purple glitter. I love the circles in this one! This is three coats and you can't see any nail line under normal lighting conditions even though you can see it under my lamp here.

Sweet Wave is a fabulous, candy sweet mix of yellow, pink, aqua, and white glitter in a clear base. This is two coats over Let's Not Coral (from Early Summer collection). Love it!

This collection is still available on KBShimmer's website, so head on over there to pick up some summer cheer! It's hard for me to pick a number one favorite out of this collection, so I'll give you my top three: You're So Shellfish, Mint-al Vacation, and Mixed Peelings. Agree or disagree? Which one is your favorite?

KBShimmer Early Summer 2014 Collection Swatches/Review

It pains me to have taken so long to do this review! You guys know that KBShimmer is one of my absolute favorite brands and they put out TWO awesome summer collections this year. This is the first one from the beginning of the summer.

Low and Be Bold is an absolutely striking ultramarine blue. It's a little bit sheer, but I got good coverage with three thin coats.

Right As Reign is a deep inky indigo purple shade. I used three thin coats here too.

Let's Not Coral is a coral creme that leans to the pink side of coral. This one was perfect in two coats.

She Twerks Out is a gorgeous aqua shade with green, aqua, and purple glitter and a matte textured finish. These textures are new to KBShimmer and they turned out great! This is two coats with no top coat.

Partners in Lime is a vivid lime green textured polish with green, aqua, and yellow glitter. This is two coats with no top coat.

Too Pop to Handle has a violet base filled with purple. pink, and blue glitter. I used two coats here and no top coat so the finish would remain textured.

Goldie Rocks is a beautiful golden holographic polish. I used three coats here.

Run! It's the Coppers! is such a gorgeous shade! This copper polish has a brilliant holographic effect. This is three thin coats.

Big Tan on Campus is a unique shade in my holographic collection. This light taupe-y brown is a fantastic color for fall! This is three coats.

In Bare Form is a fabulous nude holo! This is one of my favorites out of this group. It's so perfect to wear to work with just a little bit of extra oomph! This is three coats.

PT Young Thing is a strong silver holographic shade. I used three coats here like the rest of the holos, but I think two would have been sufficient.

Stark Raven Mad is a pitch black holo. This one only need two coats.

Once again, KBShimmer has amazed me with the creativity and execution of this collection. There is such a good variety here! My two personal favorites are In Bare Form and Run! It's the Coppers!. Which ones catch your eye? You can purchase any of these shades on KBShimmer's website.

Zoya Bubbly Collection Swatches/Review

See how behind I am? Haha! Oh well, better late than never, right? I finally have my swatches of the Zoya Bubbly collection from this summer to share with you. It's getting awfully cold around here and I don't know about you, but I could certainly use some cheery summer shades to keep my mind off of the impending winter. Let's get to it!

Jesy is my favorite color (duh, coral!) out of the collection, but it was also one of the most sheer so I will be layering it when I wear it again. I used two coats here.

Alma is an orangey gold jelly with golden flakes. This is two coats. Alma is the most sheer out of the collection.

Harper is a juicy bubble gum with iridescent glitter. This was one of the most opaque out of the collection; I'm wearing two coats.

Binx is a dark pink/magenta shade within gold shimmer and iridescent glitter. This is two coats.

Muse is the second cousin twice removed to Zoya's mermaidy Charla. About the same shade, perhaps leaning a little more blue, but with tons of iridescent glitter which Charla lacks. This is two coats and as you can see, it has pretty good coverage for a jelly.

Staasi is a medium green with gorgeous iridescent glitter and shimmer. This is two coats.

My top picks from this collection are definitely Jesy (for layering) and Muse (for wearing alone). These polishes can be purchased at www.zoya.com and retail for $9 each.

Zoya Tickled Collection Swatches/Review

Happy Friday all! Anyone have any fun plans for Mother's Day weekend? I'm going camping with my family and I can't wait! Just hoping it doesn't rain... but today I have something to brighten your day! The Tickled collection from Zoya consists of six bright, dreamy cremes that you won't be able to resist!

Kitridge is a bright bubblegum pink creme. Formula was a little thick, but two coats got the job done. I don't typically like shades like this against my skintone, but I know there are a lot of you out there who will absolutely love this one!

Wendy is my favorite of the collection; it's a juicy melon shade that will be taking up permanent residence on my toes for the next month or so! This is two easy coats.

Rooney is a medium magenta that seems like it could be Zoya Reagan's brighter sister. This is two coats.

Rocha is a knockout red-orange creme! If you want to get noticed on the beach this summer, slap this shade on your nails! Two coats, great formula.

Tilda is a very unique shade of green and while it doesn't look the best with my skintone, I can't help but like it! I'm wearing two coats.

Ling is an incredibly vivid royal blue. Perfect in two coats.

This collection is incredible, I just love a good creme-based collection! All of these polishes are worth checking out, but my top picks are Wendy and Ling. These polishes can be purchased at www.zoya.com and retail for $9 each.

OPI Brazil Collection Swatches/Review

Good morning everyone! Today I finally have my OPI Brazil swatches to share with you! This collection is super bright and fun... perfect for summer! There's also a nice mix of light and neutral shades that compliment the brights very well. Let's get to it!

Toucan Do It If You Try is a juicy orangey-coral. The formula was a little thick and I found that my second coat dragged a bit if I wasn't careful. You're looking at two coats.

Live.Love.Carnival. is my absolute favorite in this collection and suprise! It's coral! It's darker and pinker than Toucan Do It If You Try and it's just totally perfect. The formula again is a little thick, but I was able to apply two coats fairly easily.

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian is a bright bubble gum pink. You want Barbie pink? Here it is. This is two coats.

Where Did Suzi's Man-go? is the most gorgeous cantaloupe-colored shade that I've ever seen in polish! The formula was good too and I used two coats.

I Just Can't Cope-acabana is a vivid yellow that has a good formula! It isn't sheer at all at two coats and applied pretty well too.

I Sao Paolo Over There is a faded eggplant shade. I love these dirty neutrals! This is two coats and it had a perfect formula.

Don't Bossa Nova Me Around is a light pink-putty shade. This will be a great neutral choice for summer! Great formula, two coats.

Red Hot Rio is a red jelly polish. I guess it wouldn't be an OPI collection without at least one red, but I'm glad that there's only one. This isn't anything exciting. Two coats.

Taupe-less Beach is a light taupe that leans a little to the purple side. This is two coats.

Next Stop... The Bikini Zone is a shimmery purple duochrome with gold and bronze shimmers. This is the one polish that sticks out in this collection as not belonging. All the other shades are bright and cremes and this one seems like it would fit better in a fall or winter collection. It's a little sheer and needed three coats for what you see here.

OPI Scores a Goal! also seems like it could fit in a fall collection, but I just love it! It's a deep raisin creme that was perfectly opaque in two coats.

Amazon... Amazoff is a deep teal green that was a teensy bit sheer, I did two coats here but I'm seeing a little bit of nail line at the tips when I look closely so three probably would have been better.

Overall, I think this collection really hit the mark! Most of these shades are fabulous for summer and I'm excited that there was a good yellow in here. I generally dislike wearing yellow, but it's great to have a good one for nail art! And can we talk about how amazing the names are? Seriously, I was cracking up as I swatched them! Bravo to whoever named this batch!
