Windestine Jeweled Sand

OMG... I am so on the indie seller bandwagon now that it's not even funny. Look what I was missing out on!!! This is Jeweled Sand from Etsy seller Windestine. I'm sure by now you guys know that I'm a total sucker for beachy stuff, so of course I had to snatch this up when I found it browsing through Etsy last week!

Jeweled Sand is composed of three different sizes of glitter; the smallest are gold, the next size up are pink, and the largest are turquoise hex glitters. I was kind of wary about buying from Etsy because I wasn't sure if the formulas could hold up to the name brands, but Jeweled Sand totally proved me wrong. I did two coats over Essie Sand Tropez and Zoya Wednesday and didn't have to try at all to place the glitter to make it look good. It was fabulous! Windestine will be opening up shop again sometime in late May/early June, so make sure you check out her Etsy and Facebook pages for updates!

Candeo Colors Orchid

On with the indie polish-awesomeness!! Today I have Candeo Colors Orchid for your viewing pleasure, layered over Wet 'n' Wild FuchsiaRama. Candeo Colors is another awesome indie polish-maker who started selling on Etsy, but has just recently opened her own store site. You can like her page on Facebook to keep updated on when the site will be restocked!

I decided that Orchid would be best layered over some type of berry-pink and I just happened to have Wet 'n' Wild FuchsiaRama sitting on my desk, so I decided to use that. This is two coats of Orchid over two coats of FuchsiaRama. I had no idea that there was shimmer in the base of Orchid and literally squealed when I saw it show up on the nail! I love shimmer! I gave my bottle a good shake before I started applying and had zero issues with getting the big glitter pieces out of the bottle. And as my parting gift to you, here's an awesome bottle shot!

Soulstice Kauai & Cape Cod

The two shades that I have to show you today, Cape Cod and Kauai, are from a new (to me) brand, Soulstice, that is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Their polishes are 3-free as well and are totally amazing. You can check out their polish and other spa products on their website. 

Cape Cod is a beautiful, shimmery, and slightly-muted baby blue shade. I used two coats here and was completely blown away by how great the formula was. There was no streaking, balding, or dragging and each coat dried quick and opaque.

And here is Kauai, a juicy berry-pink color with a golden shimmer finish. The shimmer particles in Kauai are a bit bigger than those in Cape Cod, giving it a lot of depth. The formula here was just as great as with Cape Cod; two easy coats were all I needed for what you see here. Conclusion? I would definitely (strongly!) recommend trying out some Soulstice polishes if you haven't already!

SoFlaJo Orange Blossom Special

You guys know how awesome Jody at SoFlaJo is, right? If you don't, you need to check out some of the stuff she has created! Jody has an awesome eye for color and a ton of polish-making talent. Today I have Orange Blossom Special from SoFlaJo's new collection, Spring Flowers. 

Orange Blossom Special is a beautiful, shimmering shade of peach. It has a very, very slight frosty finish with a lot of golden-yellow shimmer. Pretty much anything with shimmer is a win for me and I love that Orange Blossom Special is a lighter, fresher shade of orange than the bright tangerine that we've been seeing so much this year. Butter London Trout Pout Lippy & Nail Polish

You guys know that I don't really do product reviews outside of nail polish, but when I found out that Butter London was releasing lip glosses to match some of their shades, I knew I had to share! The shade that I received to review is Trout Pout, which is a gorgeous salmon pink polish and matching Lippy.

Let's start with the polish: Trout Pout is the perfect summer color for me. I had been admiring this one from a distance ever since it came out and I'm so glad to finally have it. I think it may show up a bit too bright in my photo, but don't be fooled, this is NOT a light, pastel salmon pink/coral. It's just beautiful and the formula was great with two coats.

Now on to the Lippy! I really don't wear lip stick/gloss much (or ever!) so I don't know if I'm at an advantage or a disadvantage for reviewing this product. I swatched it on the back of my hand because all of my lip photos were totally awkward and not going up on the internet for all to see, but I did wear it for quite a while. It has a really nice texture on the lips; it's not too sticky and it doesn't seem to rub off on every single thing I drink out of. Also, if you want a little bit of color but find that the Lippy is too glossy for your taste, you can dab some off with a tissue and still have a slight bit of color on your lips! The color is similar to the polish shade, but less vibrant.

Lastly I have bottle shots so you can see the size of the Lippy compared to a Butter London polish bottle. The Lippy is the perfect size for slipping into a pocket or small bag for going out; I should also mention that it has an angled sponge applicator instead of a brush. I will most definitely be getting a lot of use out of the Trout Pout polish and even though I can't honestly say I'll wear the Lippy all the time, I am going to make an effort to get out of my comfort zone and wear it out a few times this summer!

Glittery, Sparkley Mermaid Mani!

I have been in the mood for some serious glitter lately, so I dug through my stash and came out with an old untried of mine, Sinful Colors Nail Junkie. I knew I needed something to layer it over, so after much indecisiveness, I came up with Zoya Zuza with an accent nail of Charla. I just have no words for how gorgeous and glittery this mani was in real life, picture it ten times more sparkley than in the photos and you'll be close!

I did two coats of Zuza and three of Charla, followed by two coats of Nail Junkie on all of my nails. I got pendants in the mail for more nail polish jewelry the day I did this mani and I promptly made myself a pendant to match my nails. I was even complimented on it by my cashier at Walgreen's! :)

NYC Sparkle Top Coat & Matte Me Crazy

Good morning all! Today I have some awesome nails for you using some cool New York Color topcoats that I received for review. First up is the NYC Sparkle Top Coat. I LOVE THIS. As soon as I saw it in the bottle, I knew I wanted to wear it over purple. I choose Zoya Mira and did two coats of that and then applied two coats of Sparkle Top Coat. It applied so well and the glitter spread out perfectly. It dries quickly as well, so you could easily do more coats for more sparkle!

Once my initial mani was dry, I applied NYC Matte Me Crazy because matte glitter is insanely awesome. It look a little longer to dry than some other matte top coats I have, but the effect is the same in the end. What makes this one the best is that it's cheaper and easier to get a hold of than other matte top coats! You should be able to find this at any store than has a NYC display (I've seen them at my Rite Aid, for example).
